You’ll probably (hopefully) have some downtime over the next couple of days. Here are some new and newish music documentaries you might enjoy with your family or to kill some time. Just a heads up, there will be some language with these I am sure at times if you are watching with the kids.

Framing Britney Spears
She looks to be free now, and this recent documentary from The New York Times was a big part of getting attention for the #FreeBritney movement. Why was she in the conservatorship? What is so sketchy about it? Can she get free? Who or what is keeping her trapped? It’s on Hulu with a subscription.
P!NK: All I Know So Far
Released earlier this year, this doc follows P!nk as she works to balance her personal life and family behind the scenes and her tour schedule on The Beautiful Trauma World Tour. Check it out on Amazon Prime.
TINA
“TINA” takes a look at Tina Turner’s life, career, hardships, and triumphs. It has interviews from those who know her best, others who were impacted by her career, and those who have covered her as journalists as well. HBO Max with subscription, as well as iTunes, Vudu, Google Play Movies, and Amazon Video
Muscle Shoals
Yeah, it’s been out for a few years, but this is a fascinating look at an area in our neck of the woods that produced legendary music. A special group of people and musicians from two studios in Muscle Shoals, AL produced music we still sing along to many years after the albums were first recorded.
NeedtoBreathe: Into The Mystery
A rock n roll band grounded by the Covid pandemic just like the rest of the industry rented a house in Tennessee and turned it into a recording studio. They recorded an album over the course of three weeks that no one but themselves and a few others knew they were making. This is the process and story of that album. Streaming now on Amazon.
