The Weeknd will perform an exclusive, one-night-only concert in São Paulo, Brazil, this September, which was announced on Wednesday (July 17).
The show will take place on Sunday, Sept. 7, at Estádio MorumBIS and will feature “never-before-seen production,” according to a press release. Produced by Live Nation, the Brazil show comes nine months after the superstar performed in São Paulo for two nights during his After Hours Til Dawn Tour; The Weeknd (real name Abel Tesfaye) performed at Allianz Parque on Oct. 10 and 11, 2023, and he performed in Rio de Janiero’s Estádio Nilton Santos on Oct. 7.
The second leg of The Weeknd’s After Hours Til Dawn Tour grossed $192.5 million and ranked eighth on Billboard Boxscore’s top tours of 2023.
Tickets will be available starting with an artist presale on Monday, July 22, at 10 a.m. BRT. Additional presales will run throughout the week before the general onsale, which starts on Thursday, July 25, at 10 a.m. BRT at TheWeeknd.com/SaoPaulo.
The Weeknd, who is a United Nations World Food Programme Goodwill Ambassador, will partner with the U.N. World Food Programme to contribute $1 from each ticket sold for the special São Paulo show to the XO Humanitarian Fund, which supports the organization’s response to the unprecedented global hunger crisis.
The “Popular” hitmaker recently became the first Canadian artist to achieve seven diamond certified singles, following the RIAA‘s certification of his Billboard Hot 100 No. 1s “Save Your Tears” and “Die for You.” He’s also the fourth overall artist to score seven or more diamond tracks, which marks at least 10 million equivalent units sold.
