979WVOK Contest Rules
Registration for contests is determined by each set of individual contest rules.
Minor Contests or Promotions are considered daily or weekly contests for prizes like impossible trivia, total nerd trivia, remote broadcast drawings, etc
Major Contests or Promotions typically offer larger prizes $250 and up OR consist of the long-term promotion of the contest over the course of several weeks with a definite end date and prize awarded. Example ( Cash Can Contest, Playstation 5 Giveaway, Mountain Dew and Pepsi Promotions, Etc)
Winners of Minor contests (On-Air, Weekly, Daily, or Remote Broadcast contests) must wait 30 days before attempting to win a minor contest for a second time with 979WVOK. Weekly or daily winners are still eligible to win Major Promotional contests that occur throughout the year. For the difference between the two types of contests, see the above definitions.
Prizes won during Minor Contests are not for resale. If a Minor Contest winner is found to be selling Minor Contest Prizes, it may lead to a temporary or permanent ban from winning said contests.
Winners AND their Households of Major Promotions/Contests are not eligible to win another Major Promotion/Contest for 12 full months afterward from Woodard Broadcasting Company. Example If you or someone in your household win a Major Promotion/Contest from our company on July 31, your household would not be eligible to win another Major Promotion/Contest until August 1st the following year. The winner and household would still be eligible to win Minor Contests/Promotions during that year.
Open to contestants 18 or older unless otherwise specified
Prize cannot be exchanged for cash
All winners agree that neither Woodard Broadcasting Co. Inc. nor any other participating sponsor will be liable for any liability, loss, or damage (including personal injury) that may occur in connection with the winner’s acceptance of any contest prize(s), and winner releases them from same.
Woodard Broadcasting Co. Inc. and all participating sponsors reserve the right to use the winner’s name, voice, and likeness and the fact that he/she has won a prize(s) in publicizing this and any contest unless prohibited by law.
Contests are open to all residents of Alabama and listeners, except for full or part-time employees of Woodard Broadcasting Co. Inc., any of their affiliated corporations, or any of their advertising agencies, immediate family members of such employees, or any of their assigns or licensees. Contests are not open to any employee or family member of a participating sponsor of a contest.
Contests are NOT OPEN to owners, officers, employees, consultants or advertising/marketing agencies for any radio station in this market area as defined by Arbitron Radio for the Total Survey Area.
Contests are NOT OPEN to a participating sponsor(s) or their employees.
Woodard Broadcasting Co. Inc. reserves the right to amend or change these rules at anytime
All taxes, insurance, and other miscellaneous expenses or fees are the sole responsibility of winners. A 1099 form will be sent to the winner(s) at the end of each year if cash or prize values have totaled $600 or more. The winner is responsible for taxes.
Woodard Broadcasting Co. Inc. may exclude any contestant from being a winner and claiming a prize(s), if that contestant has broken any of the rules listed in this document.
All Woodard Broadcasting Co. Inc. decisions are final.
