Job Fair
WOODARD BROADCASTING held one of our required JOB FAIR in the Quintard Mall’s food
court in Oxford Alabama on Monday April 21st 2023. We promoted the event through different
channels so we could get the word out and inform our community. Leading up to the job fair
WOODARD BROADCASTING ran 2 announcements a day for TWO calendar weeks from the
week’s April 10th through April 21st for 22 mentions. In addition to the on the on air recorded
promo, WOODARD BROADCASTING used social media for this such as face book and twitter
PLUS we announce it on our promo sheet that our on –air staff read throughout their on-air shift.
This job fair was from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm with Operations Manager Steve Stevens on
location to handout out information packets about the different jobs positions at WOODARD
BROADCASTING ranging from Management, Traffic, Sales and programming and in addition
these information packets covered how to apply and where to apply in the event of an opening
and instructed future applicants to check on our website for job postings at
WWW.979WVOK.COM approx 20-25 people showed up to learn more about WOODARD
BROADCASTING.
Job fair #2
November 20th 2023 WOODARD BROADCASTING held our 2nd required JOB FAIR at
Chick-Fil-a in Oxford’s Exchange. Just like with the previous job fair, WOODARD
BROADCASTING promoted this event with on air promos. The week leading up to the Job Fair
WOODARD BROADCASTING made 20 announcements leading up to it sporadically through
the week however they were mostly on The Big Steve Morning show. The event was from
9:30am-11:30am with Operations Manager Steve Stevens and General Manager Chuck
Woodard meeting with people and handing out information packets about the different jobs that
we have here at WOODARD BROADCASTING with a brief description of the duties that come
with each job. In addition to that, the packets also show where inquiring applicants can look on
our 979WVOK.COM website for any and all job postings that we very seldom BUT in rare
occasions do have here at WOODARD BROADCASTING. Once again as in previous times
WOODARD BROADCASTING encouraged everyone to check our WWW.979WVOK.COM
website to check on any and all job postings. Chick-fil-a also allowed us to be able to do some
one on one “interview areas” with some of the interested people that came by and about
possible future employment. We had approx 15 interested people that came out just to get more
information and had interviews with 3 people that had time to sit with us for a few moments to
answer some questions they may have had.
Outreach Announcements
Whether or not a specific position is available, the Woodard Broadcasting Group Oxford airs: 30
spots on its stations. The spot instructs the work force in our community of license as
follows:“WVOK is always looking for bright, qualified individuals to fill open job positions. If you
are interested in being part of the WVOK team, visit the jobs section of 979WVOK.COM Once
again, employment information is available in the jobs section of our website at
979WVOK.COM. WVOK is an equal opportunity employer” 52 announcements were aired on
both WVOK FM and WVOK AM between December 1, 2022 thru December 1, 2023 Monday –
Sunday 6A-6A. Spots will continue to air throughout 2023. Secondly, WOODARD
BROADCASTING aired 52:30 spots seeking organizations that provide job services: “WVOK is

Employment
From the desk of The General Manager of WOODARD BROADCASTING Chuck Woodard….In
mid September 2023 Grant Davis gave his letter of resignation effective the end of September.
Losing Grant put us in a hard place due to one less body on staff. After consultation with
Program Director Jock Burgess we decided that with the holidays fast approaching we needed
an emergency hire. There was no time to get an ad in the paper, connect with local colleges or
on other social media outlets we normally would contact. One of our Oxford high school football
announcers, Chase Robinson, was recently let go from another broadcast entity so we offered
Chase a position that included social media, programming and sales, basically replacing the
duties that Grant had handled. Since Chase had previously worked for WVOK part time we
knew his character and reputation and no formal interview was necessary. After a brief meeting
we were able to secure the services of Chase Robinson and he began work on October 2 with a
three month trial. His job review will be held at the end of December 2023.

Internship Program with Oxford High School
During this 2023 calendar year, WOODARD BROADCASTING did participate with
JACKSONVILLE STATE UNIVERSITY with their Intern program and had several interns during
this year.

In addition to these, WOODARD BROADCASTING also had an intern over the summer
