WOODARD BROADCASTING held one of our required JOB FAIR at Chick-Fil-A in Oxford Alabama on Friday January 24th 2025. This is located in one of the busiest areas in our city, The Oxford Exchange. We promoted the event through different channels so we could get the word out and inform our community. Leading up to the job fair. WOODARD BROADCASTING ran 2 announcements a day for TWO calendar weeks as we always do from the week’s Friday January 10th 2025 thru Friday January 24th 2025 for 21 mentions. In addition to the on the air recorded promo and like years past, WOODARD BROADCASTING used social media for this such as facebook and twitter. Plus we announced it on our promo sheet that our on –air staff read throughout their on-air shift. This job fair was from 9:30 am until 11:30am with Operations Manager Steve Stephens on location to handout out information packets about the different jobs positions at WOODARD BROADCASTING ranging from Management, Traffic, Sales and programming and in addition these information packets covered how to apply and where to apply in the event of an opening and instructed future applicants to check on our website for job postings at WWW.979WVOK.COM approx 10 people showed up to learn more about WOODARD BROADCASTING.and our jobs that we have here at our station.
Job fair #2
Wednesday November 12th 2025 WOODARD BROADCASTING held the 2nd required JOB FAIR and once again we were fortunately enough to hold this at Chick-Fil-a in Oxford’s Exchange. Our contact person was Cindy Garmen and had us a booth designated for this. Just like with the previous job fair, WOODARD BROADCASTING promoted this event with on air promos. The week leading up to the Job Fair. WOODARD BROADCASTING made 10 announcements leading up to it sporadically through the week of November 5th 2025 through November 12th 2025.. The event was from 9:45 am-11:45 am with Operations Manager Steve Stephens and General Manager Chuck Woodard meeting with people and handing out information packets about the different jobs that we have here at WOODARD BROADCASTING with a brief description of the duties that come with each job. In addition to that, the packets also show where inquiring applicants can look on our 979WVOK.COM website for any and all job openings that we very seldom have, however on rare occasions we do have some here at WOODARD BROADCASTING. Once again as in previous times. WOODARD BROADCASTING encouraged everyone to check our WWW.979WVOK.COM website. .We had approx 15 interested people that came out just to get more information.

Internship Program with Oxford High School and Jacksonville State University
During this 2025 calendar year, WOODARD BROADCASTING did participate with
JACKSONVILLE STATE UNIVERSITY and OXFORD HIGH SCHOOL with their Intern program to allow students interested in broadcasting to have hands-on experiences with this business. I want to stress that this program isnt limited to Oxford High school as in the past we have had students from different schools in our area….White Plains, Anniston, Jacksonville, Wellborn to name a few. Interns learn to do work “On – Air”, production duties, writing and producing commercials and how to do and conduct live remotes.Even though we did participate, The University didn’t send us any candidates for this. We are hoping they will send us some interested candidates in the upcoming calendar year.
Job Shadowing
Occasionally WOODARD BROADCASTING will have students from area high schools come in for a week to job shadow. This is a great tool as they learn behind the scenes workings for a radio station for a week and then the student has to write a paper on their experience. Unfortunately we had no job shadowing during 2025
